The Choice is Up to You

In the above clip from  Lord of the Rings Fellowship of the Ring , the hobbit Frodo is beginning to feel the weight of the task he has been given. He has been tasked with taking a most evil object, the Ring of Power, to its destruction. There are evil forces hunting him at every moment seeking to reunite the ring with its master. One he thought was his friend has become intoxicated with the power of the Ring and wants to claim it for himself. To protect his other friends he decides to separate from the group and set out alone. And think about it to a tiny hobbit, the journey to travel all the way across Middle Earth to take the Ring to the fires of Mount Doom in Mordor, the only place it can be destroyed was daunting when he had the eight other members of the Fellowship with him, but alone, it probably seemed impossible. However, the words that Gandalf told him once come back to him and gives him a new surge of courage.  “I wish it need not have happened in my time,...

Going Against the Mob

Something I got to thinking about on my way home from a friend's house last night, Satan is like the biggest Mob Boss there is. Okay, hang with me here.... In all the stories about The Mob, gangs, the Mafia etc that you hear...usually out of Hollywood, there is a Boss and his henchmen. However, as we all know there usually is that one person who steps out and says what they really think/feel. Sometimes they manage to convince others to come along and rebel with them while others they have to run and hide because they now have a giant target on their back. The biggest "mob" we have is The World. When we live by its rules and standards, keep our...

Lies vs Truth

In the series the Hunger Games: Mockingjay  one of the main characters Peeta Mellark is captured by the Capitol and is subjected to many torturous things. The worst is what the book refers to as highjacking. In the Hunger Games  universe, there are creatures that were created in the labs at the Capitol to use in the games and to keep the districts under control. These creatures are called Mutts or Muttations because they were usually mixtures of various animals. One of the worst are called Tracker Jackers. "Tracker jackers are genetically engineered wasps, conceived and created in the Capitol. They are genetically coded to attack anyone or anything that disturbs their nest. Once they make a person their target, they will follow him or her far away from their nest. - The Hunger Games Wiki  The Tracker Jackers' venom was lethal and in the event that their victims survived the attack, they would experience vivid hallucinations and sometimes be driven to madness. When t...

[ remote shoots Luke ] Stretch out with your feelings! [ Watches Luke succeed in blocking the lasers ] You see? You can do it. Solo: I call it luck. Kenobi: In my experience, there is no such thing as luck. -Scene from Star Wars: A New Hope In  Star Wars: A New Hope,  there is a scene that takes place on the  Millenium Falcon  Luke, Han, Obi-Wan, Chewbacca, C-3P0, and R2-D2 are on their way to Alderaan to help the Rebels.
