A love letter from the King

A few weeks ago I was in my room and was pretty anxious. Suddenly the desire to write in my journal came to me. I picked up my journal and favorite pen and started writing, I had no idea what I was going to write just had the feeling that I needed to write. The letter that follows is what came out of this time. I can honestly say that I wasn't the one coming up with the words, it was truly a God and Drea moment.
A note, in a future post I plan to go into more about being God's princess, but simply put, if you're God's child you're royalty! He is the King of Kings, sons and daughters of kings are princes and princesses. Also referenced in the letter is the fact that we're in the middle of a spiritual war. The bulk of this war is unseen to our human eyes, but we can see the collateral damage all over the world....sometimes we ourselves get caught in the crossfire. Finally, there is a part where my name is used, as you read it, please put your name in there. While I was the one this letter was given to, I fully believe that it was meant for anyone who takes the time to read it. I hope that it will help you as much as it has helped me over the past few weeks. It truly is a love letter from my King.

My beautiful beloved Princess,

I am with you, trust me, even though you feel frightened and anxious now, and you may not always feel my presence, trust me. No matter how you feel, I am always the same and always there for you. This is just a season in your life, it will soon pass. The lessons and things you learn about yourself and me however will not fade away. You will be stronger for having endured this trial and will be all the more prepared to stand up during future storms. Also the lessons you are learning now, even if it doesn’t feel like you’re learning anything, will be used to further my kingdom on earth and ultimately in heaven.

Don’t be afraid. I know every thought and fear that troubles you. I know every anxiety before it reaches you. I will be with you through all of it. Even when it feels as if you can’t stand it anymore and the fighting spirit has left you battle-worn and weary, I will give you new strength. You will not fall in battle; you will be strong because I will give you my strength. Don’t let the clamor the war drown out my voice. Don’t let the dust from the battle obscure me from view. And don’t be afraid when the battle plan seems far-fetched and unlikely to secure a victory. Many times wars are won by the most obscure and least thought of path. There will be days when the battle rages and it seems as if the enemy has the upper hand. But don’t you forget my Princess, the victory is mine. The real battle has already been fought and won on the cross. I secured the ultimate victory there and what I have done no one can undo.

Also, you are mine, forever and for always. I’ve made you for a special purpose, one that the enemy is scared of. You’re my special weapon, my chosen tool. The plan I have in mind only you can execute. The very fact that you’re being targeted right now shows how vital you are to this plan. And vital you are my Princess. So when the darts are flying and the storm is raging, don’t lose heart. In this world you will have trouble, but take heart I have overcome the world.

I love you so much and I will never let anything separate you from me. NOTHING will ever come between us. As you go through today remember I am with you. Even though you feel weak and about to crumble, that’s when I am at my strongest and can empower you the most because you’re most aware of your need for me. When you stop trying to fight it on your own and let me fight the battle with/for you, that’s when you’ll truly have victory. Just like my servant and your brother Peter learned, when you look at the waves you’ll be overcome and you will fall. But the moment you fix your eyes on me and call out to me I will scoop you up and the waves will silence. You my Princess need to do that. Stop focusing on the waves and the fears assailing you, even at this very moment. Entrust them to me, let me carry the burden for you. You alone cannot carry it, but I can take all of it indefinitely.

Remember my Princess, you are mine. I have given everything including my very life to win your heart. I value you above all creation. The very same power I have, I have also given to you. You are a powerful warrior princess and you can conquer anything if you simply trust me to take care of it. Not trust and take back, but really trust. Don’t forget, I know and understand your human limitations and emotions. I know it’s not always going to be easy for you my daughter. But a benefit of being me is I have unlimited grace, mercy, love and patience.

 I made you, I know you inside and out. Trust me with everything. With your family, friends, dreams, life, money, EVERYTHING, I will handle it with the upmost care and will show you how to be a better Andrea. When you trust me with all of it you will also become care free. Not saying you won’t have responsibilities or that your life will be all butterflies and flowers, but when the stressful moments and trials come, when the enemy has you in his sights and is laying siege, you won’t have to carry the burden alone. Have faith my Princess, I love you and I’m going to be with you today.

Now, get up and go about your day. Don’t worry about what’s going to happen, how you’re going to react or what other people are going to think. Just remember that I am with you and I’m handling everything. I love you.

I know this may come as a shock to some, but I'm not exactly the most patient person in the world.  While I'm pretty easy going about most things, one of my biggest pet peeves is traffic. It's the bane of my existence. A Season of Pruning

  “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.   He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes [ a ]  so that it will be even more fruitful." John 15:1-2 (NIV) In any flourishing garden, you know there's a skilled gardener working to keep the plants and trees looking nice and healthy. Every day he must work to ensure things like weeds, pests, fungi, etc. that could hurt or hinder the plants are removed.  Sometimes though, the plant itself becomes a hindrance to its own growth and it must be pruned.  Merriam-Webster's Dictionary defines Prune as,  to cut off or cut back parts of for better shape or more fruitful growth   to cut away what is unwanted or superfluous While it may seem counterintuitive for the gardener to cut off parts of the plants and trees he's been working so hard to nurture and grow, it's actually vital to keeping the plant healthy.
